Adam Qasim, carismatico terrorista, riesce a evadere dalla custodia del Mi5 durante un trasferimento di routine. Sir Harry Prince, capo dell'antiterrorismo, viene incolpato dell'accaduto e costretto a dimettersi, prima di scomparire nel nulla. Con il Mi5 in ginocchio, è richiamato in azione l'ex ufficiale Will Crombie, il cui compito è quello di scoprire se Harry è ancora in vita. Mentre Qasim prepara un attentato devastante nel cuore di Londra, Will dovrà decidere cosa fare per evitare il peggio.
