Bleek, costretto sin da piccolo ad estenuanti esercizi musicali dal padre, cresce e diventa uno dei più bravi musicisti in circolazione: nessuno può restare insensibile al suono della sua tromba. Purtroppo assieme alla fama arrivano anche i problemi, nella gestione della vita privata (e delle varie donne, amori ed avventure) come anche dei componenti della band. Gelosie, scontri e ripicche colorano il cupo sottobosco jazz della vicenda, fino all'inevitabile conclusione.
