Tim ha 21 anni, ed è un ragazzo piuttosto impacciato, quando apprende da suo padre che tutti gli uomini della sua famiglia hanno un dono particolare. Se si chiudono in un luogo in cui nessuno può vederli e stringono con forza i pugni possono fare dei balzi indietro nel loro passato potendolo così modificare per poi tornare al presente. Tim decide di utilizzare subito questo 'potere' per cercare di trovare una compagna. A un certo punto l'obiettivo diventa Mary, conosciuta in un ristorante al buio, ma quando i giochi sembrano fatti, un errore nel passaggio temporale sembra rimettere tutto in discussione.
