Venti anni dopo un'epica gara ad un pub, cinque amici si riuniscono quando uno di loro si mette in testa di partecipare di nuovo ad una maratona di bevute. Convinti da Gary King (Simon Pegg), un quarantenne dallo spirito ancora di un adolescente, a ritornare al loro paese natale e a metter piede al mitico pub "La fine del mondo", si ritroveranno a dover lottare per salvare il loro futuro e qello di tutta l'umanità da una imminente apocalisse.
