Arma letale è il soprannome di Martin Riggs, un poliziotto che, reduce dal Vietnam e vedovo recente di una moglie adoratissima, ha ormai trasferito nella pistola il suo amore esclusivo, tanto è affascinato dalla morte e tanto spesso si trova alle soglie del suicidio e della follia.
