La compagnia che gestisce il traffico delle diligenze del Colorado fa di tutto per boicottare l'inaugurazione della nuova ferrovia grazie all'aiuto di una banda di malviventi. Nel frattempo la sceriffa Kit Dodge si dà da fare per trovare qualcuno che prenda posto sul treno che ha come meta finale la stazione di Tomahawk. Kit recluta Johnny, uno strano commesso viaggiatore che accetta con lo scopo di respingere gli assalti della banda. Western umoristico (e musicale) di un modesto regista che fu anche scrittore "pulp".
