Diverse storie con protagoniste madri e padri differenti si intrecciano durante il giorno della Festa della Mamma. Miranda, una conduttrice televisiva, ha scelto la carriera sacrificando la vita privata e la maternità. Sandy è invece una mamma single, il cui ex marito ha sposato da poco una donna molto più giovane. Bradley sta crescendo da solo una figlia adolescente ma ciò per lui comporta talvolta dei grandi imbarazzi.
